Wow! Another thoroughly unique and modern mitzvah celebration, an absolute joy to design and bring to life. Starting with only a color palette – hot pink, turquoise and gold – we scoured our sources for inspiration.

From bold watercolor flourishes, to a gold and white fringe backdrop and tasseled party decor, to brightly colored sweets, we dreamed up an overall design concept we named “watercolor whimsy.” Artistic flourishes layered with youthful whimsy and luxe sophistication. Dreamy, unique details spun into an elegant, cohesive whole. Take a look at this sweet story!
The custom invitation suite from Paperzest was a stunning opener.
Note the ombre effect of the escort card table arrangement – a sophisticated reference to the watercolor theme.
The watercolor flourish and the circle monogram from the invitation were repeated on the escort cards and signage. Picture perfect elegance with a touch of youthful whimsy.
Fabulous, color coordinated adult signature drink, with matching rock candy swizzle sticks. Sugar coated whimsy. Never too old to have fun!
Mirrored sign in board with a gold variation of Lindsey’s circle monogram logo. More sweet whimsy with a luxe touch.
Custom glitter dusted hot pink and turquoise cake pops and edible pearl topped mini cupcakes from Holy Ganache, along with ombre hot pink and turquoise Oreo gems and gold flourish macarons from Buttercream Bakeshop starred on the fabulous dessert table. Joined by hot pink and turquoise watercolor-iced doughnuts from District Doughnut and handpainted gold monogram cookies from Sugar Pixie Sweets. Eye-popping artistry, BEYOND yummy!
Recall that wedding cake design we included in the inspiration gallery above? Turquoise sugar flower juxtaposed against gold painted white fondant…striking. How to incorporate something similar in the design for this event? Voila! The team at Philippa Tarrant Floral Design handpainted natural succulents turquoise and placed them atop tiny white stones in modern white glass cube vases. The bold, but simple, cocktail table arrangements were a delightfully different conversation piece.
Watercolor whimsy again throughout the ballroom. With a mix of square and round tables, turquoise and white linen, high and low floral arrangements, and large tassel tail balloons, the look was simultaneously elegant and fun. The tall centerpieces on the two sides of the room were designed as mirror opposites of one other. On the adult side, large hot pink carnation balls sat atop clear glass cylinders, while on the young adult side, large clear balloons with gold scrap confetti topped lush hot pink tassel tails fabricated by Festive Effects. The metallic gold flourishes on the cylinder vases were hand applied to echo the gold scrap confetti inside the tassel tail balloons.
The abstract gold wiring encircling the low gold box centerpieces of hot pink roses toned down the formality of the roses, while evoking the same painterly quality as the watercolor flourishes throughout the design.
Gee, could the carpet have meshed any more perfectly with our design?! Did we say watercolor flourishes?!
What a lineup! On the young adult side, the hot pink carnation balls were brought down to eye level. Youthful whimsy with a dollop of sophistication.
Lights, camera, action! Alternating hot pink and turquoise LED perimeter uplights completed the picture and cast a sweet, candylike glow over the entire room.
Could the star of the show have been any more delighted?!
And oh what a sweets table! Staff couldn’t keep it restocked fast enough. Ah-h-h worthy decadence devoured by one and all.
Hey, that smile again…really, what more could we ask for?!!
Sweet takeaways. Guests were offered hot pink “ld” branded pastry boxes to collect their favorite dessert table goodies for the trip home. And gold “ld” branded flannel pajama pants for the younger set.
What a celebration! Sweet, whimsical, elegant and sophisticated, a perfect reflection of the bat mitzvah and her family. Mazel tov, Lindsey, and thank you, Julie and Brent, for this special opportunity.
With added thanks to our amazing vendor partners who helped us make it happen.
